The University Club of Washington D.C.

Dress Code

The University Club's dress code policy applies to all members and their guests

Monday through Friday, the dress code in the Club is “business casual.” Business casual for men is defined as creased slacks (no denim), collared shirt (polo/dress shirt) and non-athletic shoes. This attire is acceptable throughout the Clubhouse except in the Taft Dining Room for lunch and dinner, where a jacket is required for men. (Note: A jacket is not required in the Taft during the Memorial Day-Labor Day timeframe). Comparable attire is required for ladies (no denim).

Members and guests staying in the Club’s overnight accommodations are asked to pass through the lobby quickly if in denim, shorts, warm-ups and/or athletic shoes. Non-business casual attire is acceptable only in the Athletic Center or in the Clubhouse on weekends before 6:00 pm.

If you plan to visit the Club only to use the athletic facility, and you are not dressed in accordance with the Dress Code, a convenient Casual Entrance is located at the rear of the Clubhouse.
