Accounting Manager

Position Summary:
As an Accounting Manager, your role is to support the Director of Finance in managing the financial operations and accounting functions of the club. You will work closely with the Director of Finance to ensure accurate financial reporting, adherence to financial policies and procedures, and effective financial management.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:  

  • Prepare reports, which summarize and forecast company business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses and earnings based on past, present, and expected operations
  • Assist in the preparation of the annual Operating and Capital Expenditures budgets
  • Enter, analyze, and review financial data and transactions in the Club’s general ledger
  • Assist in the preparation for annual financial statement audit
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements
  • Assist in the preparation of the monthly membership statements
  • Assist in developing monthly analytics reports and Key Performance Indicators
  • Assist in the preparation of annual insurance renewals
  • Support all accounting functions when need dictates
  • Assist in the preparation of reports required by regulatory agencies
  • Able to manage accounting clerks
  • Address relevant membership inquiries
  • Ability to work on-site during normal club weekday (Monday – Friday) business operational hours.
  • Any and all other duties as assigned by management.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Good with numbers and figures and an analytical acumen
  • Intermediate level Microsoft Excel experience
  • Strong attention to detail, excellent, quantitative, analytical, organizational, and math skills
  • Well-developed verbal and written communications skills
  • Self-starter with the ability to work autonomously when needed; ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Process driven have a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Customer driven, keen to exceed expectations, solutions focused and go above and beyond
  • Good understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices

As Accounting Manager:
You will report to the Director of Finance

Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor’s degree (BA) from a four-year college or university; and two to five years’ experience in accounting. Familiarity with accounting for exempt organizations is preferred.
